Music for Stones and Water

Two of my favourite performers will be at the Remic Rapids on the Ottawa River on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at 3:00. Jesse Stewart, accomplished improvisational percussionist and music professor will be performing adjacent to PhOOM!, an avant garde contemporary dance company headed up by Natasha Royka of Dance/Space 637. Rain date is October 4. The event is free, with donations encouraged to support the work of artist John Ceprano. All three artists are extremely innovative: I had the privilege of interviewing Jesse as he prepared to launch his balloon orchestra at the Folk Festival this past summer, for example.

I am looking forward to hosting Jesse and Natasha on the Friday Special Blend this coming week at 8:15 a.m. to talk about their upcoming show. You can catch us at 93.1FM or at www.ckcufm.com. We stream live.
